WD40 will work, but that stuff goes everywhere and isn't real good for the finish. Might try a few drops of "3 In 1" oil or similar. Also "Singer Sewing Machine Oil" works good. If you use WD40, Spray it onto a cotton swab and then dab it on the tuners. That way there is no spray going everywhere.

+1 on the sewing machine oil. I use it on a Q-Tip. I will be happy to stop by and show you how when you have that monster doobie ready.

Or go to a gun shop and pick up some Break Free CLP {Cleaner-Lubricant-Preservative} Comes in small yet expensive plastic bottles {$5}. It works very well on firearms even in extreme conditions. I use it for it's intended purpose, but also on my old 1976 Machine Heads. It will unstick your sticky Shallers. Clean & Slick, they'll be ready for their next porn shoot. 8)

WD-40 can do alot of things. I use it to help clean off bugs, road tar, etc.... from my truck. Works pretty good.

BUT.....I found that it will remove any wax or protectant, so I do reaply protectant in the areas where I use the WD-40.

Probably does the same thing to your guitar's finish.

Yes who can forget classic lines from Q-Tip Bob, "Put the sewing machine oil in the basket! PUT THE OIL IN THE BASKET!" and... "It rubs the oil on it's skin or it gets the Ibanez again!" Super creepy!
