Thought I would copy oxfan's thread and post a new picture of my "Band Of Brothers".

Image
L-R
'75 USA Precision Bass
'12 American Standard Precision V
'11 FCS Custom Classic Jazz Special V
'12 Squier Vintage Modified Jazz V
'09 Michael Kelly Firefly Acoustic/Electric Bass V

I think I might need to cull the heard. I hate to let any of them go, but I really don't need all these basses.
The '75 P-bass is the first bass I ever purchased. Bought it used in '78. Looked brand new then. The picture makes it look better than it really is. No way I'll ever get rid of it.
The '12 Am Stnd P-bass has become my main bass, so it stays.
The '11 FCS can go......long story.
The '12 Squier is a nice bass, especialy for the money it cost. I replaced the pups and all the electronics to get a deeper, fuller sound. I have played it on gigs, but the main reason I purchased it is for a back up. It's definitely staying.
The '09 Michael Kelly is a very nice bass, but I don't play it very much or at least not nearly as much as I thought I would. Probably should go to someone who would play it more.

DISCLAIMER
I'm not trying to sell any of these basses on this forum. I am just mentioning what I'm thinking about doing. As of now, none of these are for sale. Please do not inquire about pricing on any of them.

Very cool family! They all look great, but that 5-string P is awesome!

Thanks :D

Yep....that's my main bass. Love the ole passive p-bass thump. Cuts through mix very well and you can feel it as well as hear it. Playability is great. I think Fender hit a homerun with the American Standard line. Great production basses.

Your candy cola baby would look even better with chrome ashtrays.

Fender doesn't make ashtrays for 5-string Precisions.

Yes, of course! Why not?

This combo looks much better with an all-maple neck! :P

Unfortunately Fender doesn't offer the Olympic White ASP5 with a maple neck option.
But everyone can put a maple neck from a Black or Mystic Blue ASP5 on it. 8)

SK, I disagree, but I am formulating a theory. Perhaps those performance enhancing drugs used in baseball, football, cycling - ETC, can be injected into the wood. I seem to recall the Wildwood Coronado basses by Fender where they injected die into the Basswood tree to come up with those beautiful, one of a kind, hollow body basses. Perhaps these 5, 6, etc. string basses have been injected with BGGH! (Bass Guitar Growth Hormone) Still a mystery to me, but my old brain cannot put a B over my E. Perhaps I need a similar injection?????

Could be right....don't really know.....but I think it's more to do with me.....never did think straight.....maybe that's why the "B" over the "E" makes since to me.
