Few tips. If it has the words AMERICAN STANDARD, AMERICAN DELUXE or CUSTOM SHOP in the item name, it isn't a stand or a strap. However a strap is usually included with those.

Shut up Dave!

White.....Rosewood.....Tort pg.....very nice combo.

Shut up Gary!

You know that ain't gonna happen......just ain't got it in me.

I haven't tried one of those stands before. Might look into one next time I need one. Good price on it.

The last one I bought was a Hercules. I really like it. I purchased it with my FCS in mind because of the reason you stated about the Jazz bass's shape and the padding they use isn't suppose to damage the nitro finish. It's very stable too. They are pricey, but to me it's worth it.

Oh by the way, I'm not above asking for the OFD (old fart discount).

The first one I bought was for taking along, it folds into a neat package. The benefit was, it hols a bass like a hand in a glove and they're stable. Wifey knocked my Jazz over when I had it on my other A-frame type stand, this one is much better with the jazz type bodies. For the money, you can't go wrong.

I went down to the crossroads, NO! Guitar Center. I came home with an Am. Std. Precision, 3-Color Sunburst / Rosewood. I just wasn't getting the sound from the Ric 4003.

Nice job! Nothing wrong with the Ric, but it isn't a Fender.

Now if all you went in for a set of strings, nylon of course.....now we're talking the big leagues.

HA HA HAAAAH! While they were doing the paper work, I restrung it with Mr. Nylon Signature D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewound Strings. Fastest string changer in these parts.

Don't string your bass without them!

Straps and stands are like a gateway drug for other things. :P I once went into a shop to buy strings and walked out with a Yamaha semi-hollow body guitar. You know you can't resist the Siren's call of the other goodies inside. :P
