I tried this earlier on today, and I must say that it sounds great, to my ears at least. That pickup is pretty powerful and I ran it through a clean and a gain channel; it just worked so well. Heck, it even made a little riff I wrote sound so much cooler! I had it mostly on the gain channel though, seeing as I don't really use gain at all, it just sounded so good but I was never sure if the tone knob did anything. Maybe it was the amp, I can't even remember what the amp was.

Fit and finish was pretty much flawless to me. It felt a lot like my '51RI, but with a smaller feeling neck obviously. It wasn't heavily glossed like a '51RI, almost more similar to a MiM Standard, or the occasional MiA Standard. Tuning was as stable as it can get and I'm a sucker for the reverse tuning heads.

I think I just may buy that instead of the Steve Harris bass that I've been gassing over for a few years. It's called a P-Bass, but it sounds nothing like one. That's a good thing, coming from a guy who owns and plays nothing but P-Basses.

I own the Steve Harris P-bass & I've yet to try out the Cabronita, ....... however I can say that the Steve Harris P-Bass is one solid beast of a bass that I'd never part with.

Oh, I know how much of a beast that Harris is. Tried it many times before and it just felt so right. Good call on never parting ways with it.

I really think you should go right ahead and SNATCH one up!

There are two threads on the Cabronita ( both started by our brother, Dave  ). A total of 84 posts and over a thousand views.

But only ONE SALE. Gary J. was the only one smart enough to SNATCH one up. 8)

It's only $600 at MF. The Fender STD P is $580. The Steve Harris P is $1,300

Don't Delay! SNATCH up a Cabronita Precision Bass Today!

Yeah I'm getting one, but have to get through vacation first and see what is left in the mad money. Haven't bought a P-Bass in about 18 months now. For me that is quite a long stretch without buying one. Trouble is I have to ditch another one just because I don't have room physically for one more. Living room full. Under bed full. Closets full. Which one to ditch is a dilemma.

Ahh.... that's painful,.....it's like giving up one of your kids,......good luck with the decision in deciding which one gets the boot to make space.. :)

I feel your pain! Try this, walk as far into the living room as possible and turn on The Three Stooges video of Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe. I find it helps, scientifically speaking, of course.

Nyuk, nyuk!
