I've finally succumbed to the influence of one of our Forum members and made a drastic move. I swapped all my basses for this beauty.

I don't think the decal will hurt the value.

Awesome!!! Though the decal is not centered IMO, which may detract from trade-in value.

However, I feel that you will probably have some type of remorse or issue with this bass. And then you will trade/sell/swindle that one for something else, maybe for the one with the maple fretboard.

Congrats oxfan!
Looks like it might need a slight truss rod adjustment though.

Man, now you guys are making me wonder if I did the right thing. I've been playing the hell out of it, Motown, Rush and of course, The Who and John Entwistle.

It plays like butter and has a great thump. Action is a little high for my taste, I just have to figure out how to adjust it.

Already needs upgrades. Badass II bridge, brass nut and of course I'd go with a slightly underwound Lindy Fralin. The Aguilar preamps are nice, but I think I'd leave this one passive for that vintage tone. Is that swamp ash or alder?

Alder. Would you believe that I got a PM asking me to trade, or sell it?

If the finish is original, I would NOT refinish it. You could easily lose over 50% of the collector value! Too bad the case and case candy is missing in action as that adds value. I'd have George Gruhn take a look.

Also regarding those adjustments, try a #2 sledge.

I bet it has a flat wound string on it. I'd put a Roto 105 on it if I were me.

Does it have a truss rod or just the standard sixteen penny nail?

Man, you guys are hard.

I did manage to reset the action, I called Lamont Terwilliger and he talked me through it. It came with a flatwound which I immediately changed to a Roto.

It IS a signature model, a Lamont Terwilliger. Only seventeen were made.

Yes it does have a truss rod adjustment.

I'm wondering about Mr. Nylon too. Where is he?
