congrats nice looking bass,

I also just picked up a new 2011 Am Standard P-Bass.

I seen it last year hanging on the wall at the music store for $1249.
Last Sat I went visiting. & they still had it, they said if I want I can have it for $999.
Being a lefty I knew this was meant to be as lefty's don't hang around very long!
It's the colour I wanted too! Nice 60th ann. stamped on the neck plate...

Beautiful Lefty! And a truely great price too. You are blessed. Enjoy it for the rest of your life. Never sell.

Is Roger Waters who inspired you to put a black pickguard?

If you kept the stock white guard and put ashtray covers, your bass would resemble to Roger's warhorse in its original form! :)

Actually Yes for the looks. I was thinking of getting his signature bass but decided I wanted the new MIA P-bass instead and just swap out the pickguard.

You can exchange the CS '60s split pickup for a Duncan SPB3.

Not necessary to put a black bridge and matching metal knobs. Roger's original Black P-Bass sport chromed knobs and bridge as opposed to the MIM Artist model.

Personally I'd recommend to keep the stock CS 60's split humbucker to nail the early PF stuff.

Yep I am keeping the CS 60's pickup. It sounds so nice.

With the stock aged white pickguard and an ashtray pickup cover your baby would resemble pretty close to the Black P-Bass back in the day!
