I've been a fan of the Jazz bass ever since the first time I played one. That's gotta be, oh, I dunno, maybe 37 or 38 years ago? With only two exceptions, Jazz basses are the only basses I've purchased ever since then despite having tried quite a number of other kinds over the years. One Gibson and one Ibanez. Both long since gone.

The exact same story goes for SWR bass amplifiers. I think it might have been 1985 or 1986 the first time I tried one and I fell in love immediately and ever since then they are the amps that all other amps have to measure up to, IMNSHO. For me, that includes Ampeg, Eden, Trace, Gallien, etc.

That means my current bass rig is my all time favourite bass rig. I have the first or second year of the Victor Bailey Jazz bass, before they moved production of that model from USA to Japan. I play it through my SWR Redhead for which I also recently purchased an extension cabinet housing an adjustable horn, two 10s and a 15.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I really like the whole late 90's Bassman series. Best amp I've ever played through was the 2x10 version. There's one at the nearby pawn shop, but it's just the head. 300watts...they want way too much for it though.

Well it's all good. Just make sure you plug that Kramer into the "low gain" input of those amps...or you'll be cracking up, too(it will blow your speakers otherwise).
