Yeah I have umpteen something like that- could be more. I have an Ibanez too. It's a 95 Trb 100. Yep. They quit making them in like 97 or something I think. I paid 400 with the case new. Okay so ...1. I have only seen one other one ever and it was for sale for around 59 cents. I've seen them advertised years ago for 100 to 200 in Tradin' Times ( if you know what that is- it's long gone).......2. Mine is teal see thru with a really thick grained alder, actually it looks like ash. I'll tell you what-- I put some Dimarzio Model P + J's in it and that thing sounds great and plays like butter PLUS I think it looks really nice. I don't think I'd ever get rid of it. It's the best sounding Ibanez I've played-- granted I haven't played a whole bunch but....... I thought about putting a piece of electrical tape over the logo so I could use it at a gig. :D

Hope I don't get in trouble for talking about other Mfg's basses. I've been on a site where that's a big no-no. Can you guess which one?

Transparent Teal Deluxes were made from solid non-veneered ash.

The first American Deluxe basses manufactured between 1995 and 1997 employed alder bodies with ash veneers.

With the official release of that series in 1998 Fender began using solid non-veneered alder and ash.

And your point is?????? Stroker is talking about a Teal transperent Ibanez that he owns,...not a 95 -97 American Deluxe.... :?
that being said .........Stroker I've also owned a few Ibanez basses in my time & I have to say I was satisfied with all of them........ I always lament & get mad at myself for selling my 79,Ibanez Musician Bass & a White 1991 Ibanez Sound Gear bass that I had....both were made in Japan .... & Sounded Great!

Is that bass James was talking about? Sorry for any inconvenience but I would put the information concerning the Transparent Teal USA Deluxes for reference purposes.

I later replied to Stroker's post by mentioning some Ibanez basses that I owed........ anyway moving on.....

Transparent Teal was introduced in 1998 with the introduction of the "official" series.

Those American Deluxe basses employed solid non-veneered tonewoods as opposed to the transitional models introduced in 1995.

Hey there.

This bass is awesome. At the time I bought this bass I had an older american vintage 62 Jazz and a G&L L-1000 and I basically just used this one all the time. I got rid of both of the other basses and never looked back. I bought this bass because of the sound, or else I wouldn't have personally chosen the sunburst, I'm more of a wine red guy, or the white. ;)

It's a P, it's got the best of the jazz. I can get the slick modern tones with active, I can get great passive tones. The bass is DEAD quiet. Awesome for recording. Awesome for running into effects. The eq curves are very useful (especially the midrange). The EQ actually let me get away with using flats (labella deep talkin') in rock contexts without too much fuss. I have recently put rounds on it and I still love the sound. For me, it's the perfect bass.

I believe mine is a 2012. It has the 60th Anniversary neck plate. Who knows how long it was on the rack

Get one!

It seems like all the 2011 & some of the 2012 American Deluxe P-Basses had the 60th Anniversary neck plate on them, (nice plate)........... in the last year or so when ever I'd go into a music store I noticed this plate on the back of the current American Deluxe P-Bass..

I have to confess: I just ordered the bass!

Still like to hear other people's experiences, though I'm already convinced. :)

It has arrived! I'm totally in love with this bass. It needed a little tweaking of the pickups, and next week I'll be taking it to a professional guitarbuilder to set it up completely according to my taste.
De set-up out of the box isn't bad at all (I already love this beauty)! It just needs some tiny adjustments.
