I haven't tried any of the Orange amps although I have noticed them whenever I vist the GC in OKC. Always wondered how they sounded.

This pic shows my usual set up.

This pic shows what I used at a gig last month when I added another 4x10 cabinet. I will be using the same next saturday.

This is the first Hartke rig I've owned. I've had it about a year and a half now. I got the 5500 head so power isn't a problem at all. Never have turned it up past 3. I also like the sound I'm getting. Variety of tone controls that are easy to dial in.
I really am surprised at the bottom these 4x10's deliver. They easily handle the B string on the p-bass. You can definitely feel it.
In the second picture above I'm using my cabinet (top) and one that our drummer brought that night. He recently offered the cabinet to me at a very good price, including the road case. Too good of a deal to pass up so I bought them.
I once hooked up the Hartke head with my 4x10's and an old Peavey 2x15 cabinet I own. Man what a sound! :D

funny you mention that my Hartke wasnt a 4x10 but it had good bottom end maybe ill try one out hopefully my local music store has em, im sure that setup could shake venues without an issue, my band used to have a pretty old peavey combo amp but this thing belted out all kinds of tones. at gigs every band that brought their amps just asked to use it instead of their own wonder if i can get em to sell it lol too much decisions

Yeah, the pasture is always greener on the other side of the fence.....

Best to go by the old sayin'.....if it ain't broke....don't fix it.

Alot of bassist probably wouldn't like my rig and visa versa.....but it's all good. Whatever works for you is what's best.

FYI - I played a Fender Rumble head, I believe 350 watt, with a Fender 4x10 cabinet at a local music shop. Really good sound. I was playing my Squier VM V after I did the mods. They delivered a good clear sound with plenty of bottom that you could feel. If I was in the market I would seriously consider that set up.

Thanks! Back in the day I didn't care much for walnut but it has grown on me. My stage level for outside isn't much different than for inside. I think the rig sounds pretty consistent. I have tried many different mics I'm back to the good old SM57 for live and recording.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
