Hello! I'm new here to the Fender forum and hope I am in the correct area. I have recently acquired a Fender pbass plus from 1990. It's the one with the Lace pick ups and yes it has a boner! My question is I am looking for screws for the bridge intonation. I'm missing two for some reason. The previous owner showed me this and I didn't think it would be so difficult to find them! Can someone tell me if there is a number for Fender that I can call to order some? I am sure they are 3.5mm and approx. 1 1/4" long. Help! Thanks!

Will offer some info that leads to more helpful info. First check here for some screws. Might see what you need: http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/screws_bridge.htm

A better idea might be to contact Fender Consumer Relations and request the SERVICE AND PARTS DIAGRAM for your 1990 Precision Plus. It isn't available as a PDF on the support page. Nothing that old is listed there. They will send it if you ask.

By mail:
Attn: Consumer Relations Dept.
17600 N. Perimeter Drive, Suite 100
Scottsdale, AZ 85255

Telephone: (480) 596-7195
Fax: (480) 367-5262
E-mail: consumerrelations@fender.com

Be sure to include SERIAL NUMBER and MODEL. Once you have the diagram check and see if there is an individual part number for the screws you need. If so that will eliminate guesswork. Then order the screws through your local Fender dealer or through an online dealer, such as the link I posted above.

you could call German Village Music Haus in Columbus Ohio and have the guy send you some-- they can't be that hard to find ... Right?

Believe me I didn't think it would be this difficult either. After 4 repair shops and a specialty nut and bolt only store I still have nothing. 3.5 mm is an odd size as I have been told. I can order some from the nut and bolt store, but 100 is the minimum! I'll wait to hear from fender. I also have one more repair shop to hit.

Was this an April Fool's joke? You are seeking a screw for your Boner? And I just realized this is probably a joke. Very very funny joke if so.

Hahaha! That would have been a wicked April fools joke! Unfortunately, I really am looking for the screws and NO Fender does not have them not do they know where to find them. The bass is too old and the parts are not in production anymore. Crap! Sorry for all of you that thought it was a joke! Lol! My quest will continue!

I'd suggest you contact Fender customer relations?

If you don't have any success there you may have to get an after Market replacement bridge there's a lot of great bridge's out there......( I know I'm probably going to regret posting this as I'm sure everyone who reads this is going give their opinion on what after market bridge is best so......Release the hounds.... )

Thanks everyone for all the help. It's appreciated for sure. I called Fender and because the bridge wasn't made by Fender they don't have any in stock and can't get a hold of any. I finally tracked down a bridge with these same metric screws. They come from an Ibanez! Crazy, but thankfully they are on order. My boner will get it's screws! Lol!

The Elite fine-tuner bridge was made by Schaller.
