I bought a new precision bass around 1975, played it for 1 to 2 years and had it stored in away ever since....mainly in my gun cabinet
I am now keen to find out where it was made, its approx value etc
Its in good condition apart from a bit of pitting on the chrome bits and a belt buckle scratch on the back (lent it to a mate not long after I bought it and it came back with the scratch...I was not happy :( ).
Ive got the original case and even the original owners manual and the original skinny little strap it came with.

Any ideas how I can find out more info about it?

made in USA-- need serial # for the year- need pictures

this is one of the best places there is to find info on your bass. It helps to have clear well lit pictures of the body-front and the back-- the headstock front and back etc

For some reason there is a great disparity in valuations on mid 70's P-Basses. 75's are currently for sale ranging from $1300 on the low side to $3900 on the high side. That is a huge range. Photos required for something more.

As for WHERE it was made. Fender only had two manufacturing facilities and both were in Fullerton, CA until FMIC bought out CBS almost 8 years after your instrument was made. The original was the Radio/TV shop at 107 South Harbor and in 1953 moved to 500 S. Raymond Av where it remained until CBS sold out to FMIC. Now there are several businesses at the 500 S. Raymond complex including an auto repair shop and a bar.
