That shot of the neck and the lower bout is really nice.

If I five it, it'll be a Precision.

The active or the passive version?

The active version has been discontinued years ago.

If Fender decides to release a new American Deluxe Precision V, it would be made to the current specifications.

Passive. I like to set it and forget it, so an active is sort of wasted on me. I do most of my tone tweaking by changing right hand position.

After having had my roadworn for all while now all I have done to it is a bit of foam under the bridge cover between strings and the cover itself, I use a pick most of the time, and go for a trebly punky/funky/metal sound, so I found I like the thud it gives the low E with the foam, other than that this bass is perfect for what I want and this one is staying stock!

Thanks.
I never really like the pics I take so I thought I would try something different.

The pics did turn out good. Reflections of ceiling fans show up in some of my pics too.

@Mr. Nylon

It appears that you've exchanged the candy cola P for a sunburst Pawnshop Mustang Bass.

That was my biggest change to the Precision. I changed it to a Mustang!

I played Gibson short scales for a long time. Over time the SG set up didn't feel as good to me as the short scale on it did. The Pawn Shop Mustang has everything in a shortie Fender I want. Life is good.

I changed the pick guard on my 2010 American Standard V from white to black pearl, it looks amazing, the wife nick named the bass The Black Pearl. I saw a white pearlazoid on a cola one , looked amazing ,thought it would look great on my black one , but I couldn't find one. I also have a black on black Tony Franklin fret less p bass, I saw the other day Tony picked up a cool new blue one with a black pearl like pick guard from the Fender Factory. I think it would look great on mine, does anyone know if we can get one from Fender?

Only modification to my P-Bass is the tone cap, replaced the 0.05 with a 0.1. I like the darker/bassy sound I get when the tone pot is completely rolled off. Also replaced the dome knobs with the vintage jazz bass knobs.

I have a Sting Precision to which I have added a Quarter pounder, a Tele Bass pickguard--a thumbrest -- a 4 saddle bridge - AND Now:::::

The Sting comes with those little pots that everyone says "Oh it doesn't matter that they are small-- they're still pots!!!"" and then I figure out that I don't like little pots AND it just so happens that they are 250k pots which I have been made aware that P basses should have 500k pots and a 5 cap or 473 like I have now. So Upon seeing that the size of the electronics cavity is about 3mm too small all the way around to fit regular size 500k pots--- I commenced to routing out the cavity and now the job is done.

The sound IMO of the bass when I purchased it was 25%.
The sound after adding the Duncan pickup, and the 4 saddle bridge was 75%
NOW with the big $@! pots and the new 5 cap the sound is at 100% maybe more.

Okay disclaimer to Scientists ; I am aware that the bridge MAY have nothing to do with the electronic process involed BUT My Sting bass that I was not very happy with is now a Bass I can live with and even use at a jig. The big 500k pots and new cap opened up the sound so I can tweek in a good honk for it in conjunction with my amp. I plugged it into my SVT 350 and Hartke 410- oh yeah -- it's sounding sweet down in the man cave.

The Sting from the store stock is really something that needs some work. It sounds like a bad Tele bass (that is cutting it some slack) and is light years from the real Sting . Changing the pick up is a must and the 500k pots and 5 cap is worth the hassle of making the cavity bigger. It's a whole nuther bass now. Write it down. :D

What do you want? A limp dishrag or a steel flagpole?

A star studded honk machine it looks like. (Yoda) :) Dos P pickups meng probably does the job. The next set up would be to reverse the bridge pickup;;;; maybe? I want to hear what your bass audiolizes. (sounds like)
