Hey OX. I liked the Pearl on some Fenders in the past, but like you just said, when I saw it on a Candy Cola, that looked fine to me. The five string Candy Cola Precision, grho50 posted was where I saw it.

Thank you to grho50, for the heads up on it.

Yes he is. I'll stick with 4 strings however, not 5.

Me too. Nothing personal, just like four strings.

Since playing bass in 1968, I never played a five string. The necks always looked very wide.

If I five it, it'll be a precision.

The active or the passive version?

The active version has been discontinued years ago.

If Fender decides to release a new American Deluxe Precision V, it would be made to the current specifications.

I've had two, one was a Peavey, forget which model, the neck was beautiful but just did,t use te B. The other was a Squier which went away for the same reason. I do't criticize those who play them, just not for me.

I always leave my basses stock, but I have a couple of Precisions that were modified before i got them.

I have a '76 USA precision with quarter-pounder Seymore Duncan pickups and a BAII bridge.

Plus, I have a 2006 Mexi P with the same mods.

Both sound great now, but the '76 had a wiring problem when I got it in that one of the P-bass pickup halves was reversed and the bass hummed like crazy until I fixed it.

Your Precisions were modified by their previous owner.

Candy Cola/Maple Neck/White Pearl Guard = Gold Hardware

I think gold-plated parts make this combination cooler.

You're welcome!
I doubt that I'm the first to do this though.

4 or 5 string doesn't matter. Just whatever you prefer. The main thing is we're playing a passive p-bass. Hard to beat the sound and Fender is doing a great job with the American Standard line.
