I've never follow the tune of keeping it stock, but that's me. Lots of people here would leave things they way they are, due to maintaining (perceived)value. Did you buy it to play and make it yours is the question you have to ask yourself. If you bought it so it'll be something you can sell in 20 - 30 years then maybe keep it the way it is. Like I said b4, do what you like. Most of the so called "custom" add ons are just bolt ons anyway right, you can put it back to original spec if you sell it.

With sound technical advice and within the traditional realms of a P-Bass, do whatever makes your ears and hands happy (keep in mind the costs).

Hey, at the end of the day, it is your bass, do with it what you like or what will make you happy. Just don't paint it pink with a fluorescent green pickguard. :wink:

I don't think I have ever owned a guitar that I didn't do something to to make it mine. And all of the changes no matter how large or small were reversible.
