The strings were buttery smooth and pretty durable. I'm willing to pay that price for a good product that lasts. Shop around and you can find them for a pretty decent price.

Yes rotosounds are awesome very beefy especially Steve Custom set really has an Iron Maiden tone especially when using your fingers unfortunately i have a condition in my fingers and have to use picks to avoid pain :( also if you look up how they make their strings on youtube some pretty cute chicks package them thats an added bonus  the Harris strings are a little pricey but for the tone its worth it in my opinion although i hear they age quickly

Watch out for some of them Bass books mate, there are some stinkers out there, the tab is interpretational to say the least! there used to be an Iron Maiden bass book with a picture of Steve on the front with a black/white chequered P bass, an anthology book, not bad tabs in there.

Good luck man, you gonna need it, but your gonna love it, take a few breaks when playing to, old Steve's technique could head you straight to RSI!

Up the irons!

That's a beautiful metallic blue finish.

I would blind people in the audience with that mirror pick guard.
