I am trying to get smaller equipment and not compromise sound. I currently have an Ampeg SVT 8 x 10 with a GK800RB and an Amppeg SVT 6 x 10 with an Ampeg SVT 6 Pro. I love both, but typically play the smaller one cause I'm sick and tired of lugging the monster around with me!
I am considering a GK MB800 or MB Fusion and a Bag End D10-XD, but am open to suggestion. Anyone have this setup? Or something they would recommend?

I guess by you standards, I'm using a half monster, An Ampeg SVT-410HLF. The TC Electronic heads and cabs are worth checking out. The RH450 head is great.

I use a 400w SWR Headlite & 400w SWR Amplite & I pair them with a SWR Goliath Jr. 4ohm 2x10 & SWR Workingpro 4ohm 4x10,......... if I were to buy another Rig ( & I've actually been thinking of getting a back up amp head & since SWR products are getting herder to find in the last couple of years) I've looked at the Rumble 350 head I like the sound of the Fender Rumble 350 Head & Rumble Cabinets as an option but as I've been casually doing research on the possibilities for a potential 2nd head & possibly pairing it with a new light weight cabinet I've come to like the GK MB 800..... I also like what I've read regarding the MB Fusion 800
however I keep hearing that there's been delays with regard to shipping it market but I think GK is now shipping the Fusion 800.
I'd pair the MB 800 or Fusion 800 with a GK NEO Cabinet either a 2x12 or 4x10 ...there's also Neo 1x12 , 4x12 & 1x15 cabinet, so there's lot's of choice there ...........
I also like what TC Electronic is doing with Class D heads, I particularly like the RH450 & RH750 heads & the TC Electronic RS line of bass cabinets, these are very well thought out products I'd like to get Mr. Nylon's opinion of the RH450 Mr. Nylon do you find that the RH450 has enough power for your needs? I'm curious because I read a review of the RH450 a couple of years ago in Bassplayer & they raved about it but thought it could of had more power ....hence in the last year the RH750 came out.
.
There's also Genz Benz & Mark Bass & even though they're very popular I'm not really a Fan of Mark Bass,... Bass Amps, sound wise but that's just me .........

Hi James; Going through the 4 ohm Ampeg SVT-410HLF cab, it has power to spare. I have cut back on the volume a bit. The gain on it, and the Tube Tone Control really works as expected. It gives a real tube tone, not just a close to it sound. I think the RH750 was put out also to be in competition with G&K, and Ampeg heads. This RH450 replaces the older RH450 Classic. The RH450 Classic may have been the one thought to be a bit underpowered.
The RH450 can run unplugged from a cab, weighs 8.8 pounds, very easy to transport even just another room, and it has a headphones jack. Can be used as a preamp with no problems also.
My RH450 up, and running.

Thanks Mr.Nylon I've been on TC electronics website several times in the last week, checking out bass gear & watching product demo's & I have to say I'm really impressed,...........I've been considering the RH450 as a 2nd head,... I fished out an old issue of Bassplayer magazine (the May 2009 issue with Phil Lesh on the cover),
this issue had a review of the RH450, & RS2x10 & RS2x12 cabinets,........all items received excellent reviews,......the reviewer thought that a hair more power on the RH450 would be the cherry on the cake...........my reaction to this comment was the following..... ..."What?? You gotta be kidding!!" 450watts is plenty for most live situations...........Anyway I'm still considering the RH450 & may pair it up with a RS 2x10 or RS 4x10 cabinet.
this will probably happen in the Summer time. the RS450 retails for $699.00 in my area...
the MB Fusion is also in the running but I'm leaning towards the RH450 :)

Yeah having an on board tuner is a definite plus!! my SWR Headlite has an on board tuner that's activated by a footswitch,.....The RH450 also has an optional footswitch
http://www.tcelectronic.com/rc4-remote/
I like the fact that you can activate the tuner or activate one of the three presets....
I'd probably get the remote as I've been spoiled with this option on my Headlite... :)

That is handy on the foot switch as well. TC E, didn't miss much on the RH450 head either.

Thanks, I did some research and just purchased the TC Electronics RH750 with the RC-4 foot switch from Musicians friend. Love that they have a 45 return policy in case it's not all it appears to be! Once I get it, I will report back with my opinions. If I love it, hopefully I can sell my ampeg and GK heads to recoup my 1K+ purchase today!

Looking forward to your report on the RH750 - I was infatuated with that whole series of amps and cabinets but it's more than I need and can't afford anyway - instead I got a GK MB112 II, a small light combo that more than meets my needs (trio with drums and guitar). But the TC stuff still has my interest piqued...

I guess my first question should have been - what kind of band do you play in and what kind of places do you play?
