Hello all!
I'm new to the forum, and joined because I would like to ask for help identifying a bass I bought.
It's a 51 style P-bass, but not a Japan re issue. I have owned one of them, and loved it, so I am familiar with a few details of them.
Here are the details:
Slab body, looks like ash
Maple neck, dot inlays, laminated maple fretboard, truss rod adjuster is a crossed flathead style, at base of neck. Tele style headstock.
Single coil pickup, but 1/4" diameter magnet pole pieces. Bigger than the japan RI. Also, not a Seymour Duncan pickup.
Large body pots, 250k
Name written in pencil on the bottom of the neck. "T. Coyle" Numbers "12/02".
"12/02" written in pencil in neck cavity of the body.
Bass is butterscotch, neck is yellow tinted.
Neck is "baseball bat' profile.
Has high mass bottom loaded bridge. NOT string through. Brass saddles.
Has hipshot tuners, with drop D lever on E string.
Does have 51 style "Fender" spaghetti waterslide on headstock.
Has a serial number on the neck plate.

Any Ideas?

Welcome to the forum.

A good bunch of photos might be useful. Posting a YouTube video showing your bass in action would also be even better.

I have it re-assembled, would pics of it together mean anything? Would I need to take it apart again?

There are no "weird" 51 Reissues. Some custom pickup shops offer the 1/4 inch pickup poles and it might be one of those. Photos will help. Take them, upload them to a free photo hosting service, then post teh photos here.
