I'm new here and posted an intro in the lounge. I mentioned my Fender basses and know the rule... no pics, no Fender basses.

I consider myself more of a P-bass kind of guy, so I figured that this is the place to post.

Left to right:

1972 Telecaster Bass, 2011 American Standard Jazz bass and 2011 American 60th Anniversary Precision bass.

Image

Here is the P and the Tele in front of my Bassman 400 rig.

And lastly, I have a 1988 MIJ Precision that I keep in our guest room on the second floor so that it is always handy.

Nice. I think every room should have a bass in it. A room with no bass is like a room with no bass.

Nice old radio. What kind and year is it?

The radio is a late forties bakelite Zenith. It works, although the fidelity is not the best.

Our home in Chevy Chase MD was ultra modern 1960's contemporary. When we retired we sold it and moved to Pittsburgh, where I am originally from. We bought and renovated a 100 year old arts and crafts four square. The contemporary was filled with mid century modern furniture. We have been furnishing our new "old" house with a mix of antiques. You can see the 1930's waterfall bedroom that seemed to fit the house. I decided that the guest room should have a period radio. I looked far and wide until I came accross the old working Zeinith. Most people don't even notice it.

Great collection! Love the Telecaster! Is the finish on the 60th Anniversary stock?

Yes. Fender did a limited run of 100 in the sunburst finish for Guitar Center. I think that it looks amazing. I was intending to get a American Standard P when I came across this and had to have it.

I love the 2 tone Sunburst finish on the 60th anniversary P Bass,..... My local Music Store has a Fender Customshop P Bass with the same finish with Maple Neck & fretboard (different from the 60th Anniversary,.... it has the current P Bass look) I love this color combination it's very striking .....

Agreed! Very cool! If I had seen one of those I might have erred for that instead of my white '70s P...

Yeah the Store is Long & Mcquade Music in Vancouver, BC, This particular bass has been in the store since October,..... In December they recieved 3 more Custom shop basses
I have my eye on one of the Customshop Basses....it's got a SkyBlue P-Bass Body with a passive P/J set up & Badass II Bridge, Tortise shell pickguard, Maple Jazz Bass Neck with Maple fretboard, Pearl Block markers with White binding...... I can't remember what kind of tuners are on this Bass ....... it's a unique one of a kind bass, they're asking $2500.00 for it........If it's still there in Mid February I might be claiming it....... :)

The sunburst '11 60th Anniversary P is not a standard colour option as opposed to the general-production Blackguard Blonde model.

From what I recall the sunburst 60th Anniversary P was a Special Edition run commissioned by Guitar Center.

It would of had to of been commissioned by GC because there was never ever a 2nd color available on Fender's website for the 60th anniversary P-Bass, Guitar Center, Musicians Friend, Sweetwater, & Sam Ash all do this from time to time.

My local music store Long & McQuade Music in Vancouver ( they have a chain of Canadian Music stores) ,.....Just got a bunch of Custom shop Basses & Guitars that were custom ordered & won't be found anywhere but their Vancouver Location.
