I've just noticed something odd. On the Fender website the "Basslines" writing can be easily seen on the D and G string pick up.

http://www.fender.com/en-GB/basses/prec ... sion-bass/

Why doesn't mine have it?

I believe it's on the protective film that the p'ups are shipped with.

Maybe they're not printing it on the pickup anymore. I have an SD SPB-3 QP in one of my Frankenbasses, and it's definitely stamped on mine. But mine is older, probably around 5 or 6 years now.

Hmmm, D and G. I suspect the hand of Gilmour in this!

Did your Bass ever have the Basslines logo on the D & G pickup ? I know that the Fender logo on my N3 bridge pickup lasted 3 weeks on my Am Dlx Jazz 5 before it was rubbed off (as I rest my thumb just above it on the edge of the pickup when I play) & the word Noiseless is almost rubbed off of the bridge pickup on my Reggie Hamilton Jazz Bass & I've only had the bass since late September .........at any rate one can only assume that as ChrisNJ put it ....... I can only suspect the hand of Gilmour in this too......

I don't remember if it had the logo or not. Gilmour is the prime suspect
