I would set it on Fender Rumble 150 Combo.

Since this is a Fender site let me post this review of the "Crush".

"Not my cup of tea"
Overall: Based on the Orange reputation, I purchased this bass amp. When I got it, I was very impressed by the looks and construction; however, when I plugged in my Carvin 5 string and my Fender JP-90, I was disappointed. The sound was more like that of a guitar and there was no sense of bass bottom end at all. We worked with the controls for a couple of days; but, never saw any improvement. Got the same results with a Fender P Bass. I returned it and purchased the Fender Bronco 40 and was pleased, right out of the box.

This might be the best advice to follow.

I have an American P Bass also. Maybe the Fender rumble would be better. I just heard so many good things about Orange.

There is no substitue for tubes to get the true sound you desire, because that is exactly what those bass players used. Only an Ampeg SVT (98 lbs & $2K+ head only cab extra), or Ampeg B4, Ampeg B-15 ('Fliptop') or Tube Bassman will truely do.

A new Fender Bassman 100T(ube) with a matching 115 neo cab would give you that sound in spades. That's running around two grand online.

The Fender Rumble 150 Combo is a great sounding affordable bass amp. Turn off the horn and the 15" woofer will put out the big round warm bottom you seek. Plus you do need the watts to get better low end tone even at low volumes. You can get one now for just $325 shipped! That's insanely cheap for such a high quality amp.

As popluar as the Rumble 150 is there is very little written about it in the Bass Amp forum. Take a peek here => viewtopic.php?f=23&t=72320
and here => viewtopic.php?f=23&t=73385
My Rumble 75 has the very same front end as the 150 and the sound is very close. If I had to do it again I would go with the 150. The tone settings thread would apply to both amps equally.

I almost bought a Bronco 40 and that is certainly a fine alternative if you have no desire to jam with a drummer. Lots of amp sims & effects. Good for direct recording with USB connectivity.

There are a lot of amps with a tubed preamp, that will give you the sound also. The Ampeg SVT-7PRO is one, weighing in at 15 pounds.

a single 12 inch speaker only pretends to give you bass sound.

There is NOTHING wrong with Orange amps, you know the all tube ones that weigh like 55 lbs or the lighter TERROR models. The Orange CRUSH combos are just not the same thing as those. So yes you do hear good things about Orange amps, but the good Orange amps are not the Asian made solid state CRUSH combos. Still the solid state combos make a good home practice amp. Not much power there, and I'm pretty sure the EQ is passive so it doesn't do a whole lot.

I can see trying one of the little combos, just not keeping one for long. They look good cosmetically though and the specs look good on paper. Can't always go by specs. The two Orange Terror heads I've used are as good as any hybrid bass amp heads I ever used, including Ampeg's and I've used all the Ampeg hybrids at one time or another.

Sooooooooo WRONG :!: Twelve inch woofers have come a loooooooooong way. I really like Eminence's NEO 12's. Check out this video =>

I wouldn't go with a single 12". A 2X12 or more does work, and sounds pretty good. I used a Mesa Powerhouse 2X12 with Neo's, that sounded good.

I can totally understand anyone disagreeing with me . If a single 12 inch spkr bass amp does the job that's cool. Spkr technology has come a long way in recent years. I understand that.

I thought they were good SV. My 4X10's are better, I think.

Me too-- this forum has alot of great debate- and everyone likes what they like and I'm all for that. If I could play a gig and use 12 10's, 2 15's - my rb800, my SVT and my SWR Red Head- I'd do it !!! OH YEAH then come tell me about a 1- 12 inch speaker cabinet!!!! HA!!!

NO No no I'm just kidding :D I really prefer the best amp for the job !!!! Let's RAWK !!!!!!
