Hey guys,

I think white on white is a great combination on a P bass. I've got a american vintage 62 RI p bass in olympic white and was wondering if anybody has got any pictures of such a bass with a white pickguard. I am a little worried the bass is a bit to yellow for a normal white pickguard to really 'catch' that Brian Wilson look i am after.

Thanks and Greetings from Holland.

Hi Tomas, nice bass. Actually a white '62 pickguard would probably have a mint green tinge to it now. Parchment/Black/Parchment would possibly work better than white/black/white on yellowed Olympic White/Vintage White. But mint/black/mint would be more era correct for a real 62 today.

Thanks for the information! I think I'll just go to the nearest fender distributor (not an easy task in The Netherlands) and compare the two, mint & Parchment.

+1 to brotherdave's comment. Correct would be Mint, but if your P is yellowed then a Parchment might match better. Also, if you want to get fancy an "Aged Pearloid" guard might not look half bad. Good luck!
