Here it is the shortest scale Bass Fender ever made. Above is 3 differnt scale basses. 1969 Standard Precision in Black. Everyone is familiar with that one. In the middle is a 2005 Torino Red MIM Precision Junior. Scale length is 28.59. Thought to be the shortest scale bass fender ever made but in 1992 the Japanese made the bass on the bottom. 1992 Made in Japan Burgundy Mist Mini Precision has a whopping 22.75 scale. You may think of it as a toy but it has standard P bass electonics & SOUNDS like a full scale P Bass. It also has a tone knob missing from the junior. A thick pair of short scale bass strings & it tunes to standard tuning & has a tone like any P Bass! The neck is short & thin but it looks cool & very travel freindly too!

by the way as a side note there is a photos of 2 mini sunburst ones in entwistle's bass culture book. The one I got in Burgundy mist was custom made. A collector who knew someone in the Fender plant got some done in different custom colors. Official Fender work. Another contact I had in Japan assured me all the ones he has ever heard of were Sunburst.

Wait! Fender now markets the 18" Ashbory I think? That would be the shortest Fender wouldn't it?

Latest ones are made in Indonesia, not Korea.

I've always found these little fretless silicone strung things intriguing.

If I could buy one of these custom ones maybe?

I keep going back and forth between wanting one of them and an acoustic electric, but don't think I'd use either one much though.

If you have good speakers check out the tone on this thing:
