I have a Fender P Bass Plus Deluxe that I bought back in 1992 – Back then, I had changed out the pickups, but I want to put the originals back in and am having a hard time finding the wiring diagram – can you help me locate it?

Part Number: 19-7600-721
Serial Number: N200370

It has 2 dual dial controls.

I know the boner ended up being a short run - when trying to register this in my profile, I can't figure out which item to select - any ideas?

Thanks!

I have lots of diagrams, but not that one and can not find one online either. Fender's online wiring diagrams only go back to about 1999. Here is what their support page says about older diagrams. The rest of this post is a direct quote from the Fender.com diagram support page.
--------------------------
"Most of our older guitar parts lists, wiring diagrams and switching control function diagrams predate formatting which would allow us to make them available on this page as PDF files. If you do not find the list or diagram for your specific instrument on this page, we may still be able to furnish you with a "hard" copy from our archive.

You may check the availability of older material by contacting Fender's Consumer Relations Department by phone at 480.596.7195 or by e-mail at consumerrelations@fender.com. If we have the document you seek, we're happy to send you a copy. All hard copy parts lists, wiring diagrams and switching control function diagrams are $5 each (shipping and handling included). Please send a check or money order for $5 (U.S.) for each separate list or diagram you require, along with a letter detailing your request and the specific documentation you require, to:

The Precision Plus Deluxe uses a downsized body and a slimmer headstock.

Boners employed larger bodies and deeper cutaways. They also sported passive electronics as opposed to the Deluxe which boasted a Kubicki 2-band EQ.

Man, I'm learning so much...first, I thought I had an alder body, but based on the literature I got from Fender, it looks like the natural finish is an ash body...and now you are telling me it isn't a boner! Man, thanks for the information, it is good to know!

Now I need to go research the Kubicki 2-band EQ!

Once you see a boner bass you'll go : "oh, I understand". ( They are really warped/ odd looking)

The first time I saw one it was in a club situation and it sounded really good, I have to admit.

Okay - now that I have the wiring diagram, it is time to put the original pickups back in. Long ago, they were replaced with a passive set because I was young and impatient...changing batteries bothered me. Now I'm old and like things the way they used to be... :)

The guy that replaced the originals just snipped the wire, so it won't be too hard to reverse engineer - while I can solder, I'm not familiar with wiring - and may need some additional wire to patch with - can someone tell me what gauge of wire to use for this - and can I just go get it from home depot, or is there something special I need to account for for this type of work?

Thanks again.

23 or 24 stranded wire - if my memory serves.

I usually use the 22 awg cloth covered push back type. No stripping required. Lots of places sell it online, not so easy to find at the Home Depot or Ace or Radio Shack. But poly will work, it is just a tad harder with which to work.

Here's a boner P Plus:

..and a P Plus Deluxe:

Both basses share the same 22-fret neck, Lace pickups and Elite fine tuners, though they have their own specs: the Boner Plus is passive, the Deluxe Plus is active.

The P-Bass Plus Deluxe is not a Boner because it sports a downsized body.
