Thinking about checking this bass out, but I'm not terribly familiar with P's. Does it look right to you? I checked some other photos of tuners, logo, etc from the era, and it looks like an American Standard. Before I rent a car to go check it out, I wanted to gather some opinions. Thanks!

PS. It won't let me post the classified link, so I gotta post the photos individually here.

I don't know what was going on from 2000 to 2008, but the American Series is one of Fender U.S.A.'s worst time periods. The finishes, the rosewood they had to use...I wouldn't pay more than $600 for that bass.

I'm seeing what appears to be a headstock repair. I'd pass on that one.

Oh. I thought that was just a chip in it. If I hear back from the seller, I'll ask about that. They're asking $500, so that might help explain the price. Aesthetically speaking, I'm a sucker for the spaghetti logo. I've never owned a P, but if this is in good working order, I might justify $500 just to have one.

After emailing back and forth with the seller, doing more research online, and getting a couple opinions on here, I think I've talked myself out of it. I certainly don't need it. After reading about the S1 switch, that seemed kinda pointless, too. Thanks, y'all.

PS. She did write that the headstock hadn't been repaired and that the only mod she knew of was a replaced pg.
