I think as far as the vintage neck radius is concerned that pretty much is either the Custom Shop's and Fender Japan's forte right now. Such as your 51 Reissue.

Yeah, it's a shame they cracked down so hard on the Japan imports. I love the Roadworn and Classic series Ps along with the AVS series. However, as they are all late 50's and 60's RIs they are all C width necks. I love a vintage B width P neck. To me there is nothing more perfect. Wether it's a 70's P or the first generation P necks. Something about them fits me like a glove. Another reason I was so crushed when I saw all the Telecaster Bass RIs. I thought what a cool idea, and was totally let down by the modern neck. I get why they do it. Switching out tooling for basses they probably feel is a waste of money. Most bassists aren't very picky about radius, or even if they are we have such a small share of the market that we kind of just take what we get. It gets irritating some times watching how the guitarists get fawned over, while we're just shoveled rehashes of what amounts to largely basses with neck and body swaps. I suppose I'll end up eventually getting a Sting Sig just because I can't get a second 51 in Sunburst anymore. :?

I'm right there with you my friend. I love a nice log to play.

BTW KoP, where in Upstate? I'm from the Hudson Valley, near the city of Hudson.

I'm in the Mohawk Valley. Just outside of Utica. Nice to see someone sort of local on here!
