Hello guys

I´ve managed to get this old beauty and I wonder if anybody can tell me something about it´s history. Where it was bought originally, who has played it etc. The neck is made 13-3-53 by Ed and body couple of weeks earlier.
Below the link where you can see it in action.

Looking good in that Soul/Blues song.
Have you tried to look up on the internet, yet?

How did you come across it?
What did you pay?
Did a case come along?
Any parts not original?

Congratulations. Toppscore 8)

The case is original hardcase.
All parts are original except tone potentiometer. It´s been replaced and according to serial number it´s from 1957.
I´ve been told that it has been bought in Nashville in the 70s
Then Stockholm, Sweden in the early 80s and now it´s in Helsinki, Finland.

I paid 2400 euros for it (about 3 000 dollars). LUCKY ME!!
52 - 54 precisions are worth up to 24 000 usd. But it has to be in excellent condition.
The sound is amazing, but you have to use Ampeg or Bassman amps because the pick up is so powerful. Forexample with MarkBass it ain´t working at all.
A taxi driver sold the bass to me. It had been in his wardrope for 15 years and he hadn´t even opened the case in that time. So everytime you drive in a taxi ask if the driver has vintage guitars. You never know....

Be sure you guitar is not on the Interpol network for unsolved crimes

Try playing it through what it was originally meant for = 1953 Fender 5B6 1x15 Bassman

Lame excuse in USA courts.
They will nab you on stage at Woodstock III.
Watch out.

Bassman's Ode to Mission Quest:

I'm just wandering on the face of this earth
Meeting so many people
Who are trying to be free
And while I'm traveling I hear so many words

Language barriers broken
Now we've found the key
And if you want the wind of change
To blow about you
And you're the only other person to know, don't tell me
I'm just a BASSMAN in a rock and roll band.

A thousand pictures can be drawn from one word
Only who is the artist
We got to agree
A thousand miles can lead so many ways

Just to know who is driving
What a help it would be
So if you want this world of yours
To turn about you
And you can see exactly what to do
Please tell me
I'm just a BASSMAN in a rock and roll band.

How can we understand
Riots by the people for the people
Who are only destroying themselves
And when you see a frightened
Person who is frightened by the
People who are scorching this earth.

I'm just a wandering on the face of this earth
Meeting so many people
Who are trying to be free
And while I'm traveling I hear so many words

Language barriers broken
Now we've found the key
And if you want the wind of change
To blow about you
And you're the only other person to know, don't tell me
I'm just a BASSMAN in a rock and roll band.

How can we understand
Riots by the people for the people
Who are only destroying themselves
And when you see a frightened
Person who is frightened by the
People who are scorching this earth.

Music is the traveller crossing our world
Meeting so many people bridging the seas
I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band.
We're just the singers in a rock and roll band.
I'm just a BASSMAN in a rock and roll band...
