Now that just sucks. How many of the Funk Brothers are left? If you haven't seen "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown", go get it, it's well worth it.

Bob was a tremendous player and was one of the best, R.I.P. Mr. Babbitt, know that you were, and always will be respected and admired.

Last year, my wife was watching American Idol and started yelling down to me that Babbitt was on. i know she has "moments" when she watches that "show", but i went up. There he was. He always made it look so easy.

Babbitt was one of the best sight reading bassists around and could ad-lib well. Not only a good music theory based player but also one with some soul and had finesse.

I'm sick of all my influences dying. You people stop doing that right NOW.

I agree with Rock Star, this must STOP. It is happening so fast I was still morning Duck Dunn and missed the anouncement on Mr. Babbit until today.
I am so sorry that yet another great bass player is gone.
So sad

RIP Bob.
Love the way he stuck to one tool of the trade all the way through.
God bless.
