If Bob Willocks says it then I'd tend to believe it over some forum grunt like me.

However, I would have thought the Highway One which is supposed to be a USA instrument would have had a USA pickup. That explains another reason I never fell in love with my Highway One Jazz.

I do not understand what you mean by beveled poles. Do you mean a raised "A" string pole?

My FSR Precision had the "beveled" poles on the pickups. I swapped them out for SPB-3's. The originals had no guts, tone wasn't too bad.

The SPB-3's are incredible as far as power and clarity. they don't have the "Fender" tone though. The majority of those who may hear it probably won't notice the difference, it's just a select few bass players that will hear it.

When i had it done i had everyting done except a different cap. that'll be next. Always in search of "THE SOUND!" Lol.

Moral of the story, dont buy a bass with "beveled" poles.
