I never have but my Mom did. If you mashed an axe-- was it good for you or what? Are you normal about it? Did you feel bad later? Did you smoke a cig when you were done? What's up? I guess I don't really expect any responses but it's slow around here.

I think smashing is just lazy. Why not just mash them as they're supposed to be? I do like them fried, or baked, or french-fried, or boiled with butter and parsley. Now that I think of it, I like them scalloped a lot too.

It is slow around here. heard any good chicken jokes lately? I heard a good muskrat joke.

No chicken jokes. The dicombobulator or whatever I called it disappeared along time ago.
I saw a band when I was a kid and at their gigs the two guitar players would smash their guitars together. I saw them twice. I don't think they were around allot longer after that. That was in the late 60's. I think I saw another band where the guy smashed a guitar. I was never into that. It was a little to violent for me. When I first saw the Who smash their equipment it made me mad at them. I was about 10 or 11. I did not understand that at all.

That would be the disocilator. As to smashing guitars, I never understood it and it always made me mad too. I worked like a dog to buy gear and these NNDB's were trashing all that great stuff.

I smashed a guitar. It was my own project - Resin bodied Explorer shape with a Jackson neck. It was also hollow inside with Baby Oil and Blue Food colourant mix to give it a blue liquid effect whenever I moved it. I got the idea from a Metallica concert back in the day. Needless to say it was F%$&'n heavy but sustained forever. Once I was done with it I decided to smash it whilst my amp was still plugged in (but far away ofcourse) just because I wanted to see what the hype was about. Luckily I did it with something I made, because I would never do that with something I bought - wasn't worth it. Dangerous splinters and what a mess to have to clean up. Oh well - learnt my lesson.

I'm pretty sure now that I remember knocking over my drums one time.

A hollow resin body Explorer with a Jackson neck.....well....... HA! OH wait- it had oil inside it, Okay.

Oh yeah it was the D I O S C I L A T O R the DIOS part is important in getting the proper pronunciation for it. Like : dye - osk . "O" sound like in the word "operator". So it's the Dioscilator. A very complex space and "time- warp -field" device.

Yeah. I made it back in 2000. It had a Lace sensor in the neck pickup and a DiMizario humbucker in the bridge. I used the leftover resin I had when I was making surfboards. I even engraved an eagle into the top face of the guitar. Alot of work went into it actually but I got over it quickly. I wasn't bothered to smash it, the guitar wasn't anything special.

The guitar wasn't practical, REALLY heavy and always being afraid to drop it was not my idea of fun. Even just knocking it off the guitar stand MIGHT have cracked the resin and then the liquid would have dripped out eventualy. I think deliberately smashing it served more justice than accidentaly dropping it and having to throw it away because it got damaged. I did gig with it for about 6 months though. I think if I knew how to mould acrylic it might have been a different story. Funny enough this wasn't my first guitar like this. The first one I made was a Jazzmaster shaped blue liquid version. I like Blue.

In the end I got over blue liquid guitars and now own a Black Epiphone 1958 Explorer Re-Issue and a Translucent Blue MIA Jazzmaster.

AND I WILL NOT SMASH THEM................

The idea is a pretty good one. I think I've seen hollow clear before with christmas tree lights.

Have you ever walked into one of those New World type stores? The ones that have a scented candle kind of "all is good with the Universe" smell and faint Native Indian music is playing? The song is usually a very dreamy "at one with nature" Native Indian love, soft and nice melody? The instrument is a pan flute I believe . I have nothing against Native Indians but there is just something about that pan flute music that just drives me bonkers. When I hear it I want to rent a steam roller and crush every stinkin' PAN FLUTE right there in the street. I want to pile them high and and drop anvils on them. I think this problem I have with the pan flute comes from my dislike of the "do gooder" mentality that the pan flute music evokes. The "No Smoking at Camp Snoopy", "be kind to Polar Bears" do gooder crap all around us. TOM - "Hi Sally. Did you hear about Bobby getting his head ripped off by a shark?" SALLY - "No I didn't Tom but you know sharks have the right to eat too!" AAAARRRRGGGGGG!!!! Smash all Pan Flutes!!!!!
