I´d like to know where and when my pbass was manufactured. I tried the guitarproject but what I saw there it made me upset. I´ve received a message of unidentified serial number ... So, where can I get the information I´m looking for?

Pardon me, but what is the serial number in question? That might be good info to put in this thread.

Does it say what country it was made in on the decal?

Can you post photos of body, headstock and serial location?

If the serial starts with a "V" it is Vintage series and you'll have to look at the neck date by removing the neck. V series instruments are made in USA unless it says "Made in Japan."

Neck dates and neck date codes are more reliable than serials as a general rule. To see them you usually have to remove the neck. In many cases they are smudged, faded or otherwise illegible though.

Well what it´s written on the headstock it says that my pbass was made in 2011. The problem I see is that when I wrote its serial number down at guitarproject site they don´t know nothing about this bass. I´ve also got a standart american jazz bass and when I write its serial number there they tell me everything about the bass when, including month, and where it was manufactured. The same doesn´t happen with my pbass. So I´d like some help to authenticate my P bass.

Send me a PM and I would be happy to try and track your serial number for you.
All the best,

Buddies I´d like to say that Rob has helped me a lot with information I was looking for. If anybody has any doubt about fender basses he´s the man to ask and find out the answer.
Thanks again Rob.

I never saw one that had anything written on the headstock that says it was made in 2011 other than the serial number. It is possible that your bass is so new that the database at guitar dater project doesn't recognize it yet.

So glad Mr. Schwarz provided exactly the info you needed. Yes he is THE MAN, so you have the official word.

Giovannisena, "May the Schwarz be with you!"

Crackerjack. I said crackerjack. Apparently the thing I call my dress blue shirt is offensive. I'm white, I take no offense. Freakin' auto-censoring.
