I have a 2006 American Precision Deluxe with 18vt. active electronics and the mid pot is a little wonky. I would like to replace it but I can't find the replacement. It has CTS stamped on the back but it doesn't say if its a 250 or a 500k. Which one should I use? What is the difference between a 250 and a 500k pot? Any help will be most appreciated.

Thanks

It look to be a 100 K , "B" type.. Can you clean it with spray contact cleaner ? This pot look to be a non standard pot

Difference between 250 k and 500k = 250 K ( joke )

Lower the Kohms, put more load on the pickup output mean less high frequency.

That is why guitar single coil use 250 k , they have lots of high and humbucker use 500 k . Humbucker don't have much high frequency.

But you can put anyone and listen .......

Great, thank you. Does anyone know where I can purchase one. I've tried quite a few online sources to no avail.

I would remove the battery or unplug the instrument cable, then use spray cleaner on it first. Let it dry for an hour then check it again. Only if that doesn't help would I worry about replacing it.

The one source I know for it online is darrenriley dot com, search on 0053736000 which is the Fender part number. Note the entire assembly that comes up along with the option of buying just the pot. Also any local Fender dealer should either have it or can get it.
