That happens sometimes, having pots from different lots. The x armenta stamping is the personal stamp of Xavier Armenta, who was the final person to work on the neck and stamped it as ready for finishing. The numbers are incomplete. 01 is the neck code for P-Bass then. 04 could represent any number of things since other numbers are missing. It has the "A" profile neck apparently. Usually P-Basses were made with "B" width necks unless an "A" width neck was special ordered.

probably not special order- they just made some with Jazz width necks I guess. I have one (74)also- It has a poplar body.

thanks for the info.

does anyone know if the above markings are correct for a 1974 neck.
do not have any reason to believe that is not 74, but have not seen these style numbers before.

thanks

There should be probably 2 more numbers in neck code. Some are missing in action, which is not uncommon at all. Probably less than 60% are completely legible.
