Actually I have had to redrill holes after packing with toothpicks and Gorilla glue. I've also had to use wooden kitchen matches on some really boogered out holes.

The absolute worst thing to do is to drill an additional hole location! It is surprising how often you see that done.

+1 for the toothpick idea. I was surprised and embarassed that i didn't know to do that on my own. i took an old guitar with a stripped strap screw hole to the store expecting to have it sit for 3 days and pay $30 or so for labor, but the guy did it in front of me and the guitar is good as new!

i guess guitar-maintenance is more of an art than a science sometimes!
