Hi guys,! I recently bought a Precision Standard MIM and would like to change its white pickguard.

I'm thinking about a toroise or black to give it a more vintage look to it, My first choice would be the tortoise one, but some friends have told me sometimes Tortoise pickguards probably won't fit exactly to my bass even though It's described to fit other models such as Mexican ones in Fender.com.

Is it true? or just a random case?

Please help me, thanks in advance! :D

I have heard of conflicting reports as to what will fit on a MIM P-bass. I don't know but you would think that Fender would have one pickguard that would fit on any "normal" P-bass. It seems like the easiest and most efficient way for them, instead of having different pickguards for different P-basses. I have an American Series P and a Hwy One P, and both of the original pickguards line up perfect. My suggestion is to try contacting one of these suppliers:

Heck, maybe even grab a cheap one from GC or Sam Ash to try it out. You never know. JMO
