Ok, Fender, listen up. Your site says it's like the original Jazz Bass Special, but it ain't. First of all, it doesn't have a Jazz Bass neck (the specs say 1.625" nut width). Secondly, the fingerboard radius is 9.5", whereas the original was 7.25". The originals also had low frets. Knobs are different, too. Why is this. It's ok to change it, but don't say "it's all here," when it's not. That's just wrong.

I have an '87 model Jazz Bass Special, and love it.

Anyone else feel the way I do?

Agreed. Sometimes the people writing ad copy take certain liberties, not only for instrument ad copy but everything else too. The copywriter might not know the difference between a Jazz and a Precision much less between the original and the reissue.

If Chevrolet for example used a slogan for their new Sonic that said, "The Chevrolet Sonic, its the Vega and Chevette for 2012," they wouldn't sell many even though it IS the Vega and Chevette of 2012.

I recently (within the past month) inquired about the specs of the Duff Neck, because it was listed on the site as having a 1.5" nut. But the Fender support person stated it was actually 1.625" and the site was not correct. I noticed it was changed the following day.

I'm still baffled that Fender still does not offer a passive alder P bass with a jazz neck.:(

Doc Severenson never had this problem.

That was because Ed McMahon kept things together.

Oh... I though his name was Ed Mckegan.

I think Fender should put out a new sig. bass : The Larry Farnsworth Bass. .....Yeah I don't know who he is either.

Did Duff go into the brewery business, investing his Fender endorsement checks?

I think I would try one of those brewskies. I'd try it even though I've never heard of it either.
Now back to my favorite artist model bass : The Sven Svenson 8 string Fender P. Yeh I've never heard of him.

I'm really surprised no one mentioned Omar McGruder.

Didn't you buy some pickups, or a pickup from him?
