Just curious as to the response to this question.

Of course photos are encouraged.

I swapped out the pickups for SPB-3's and added chrome covers.

"photos are encouraged". I like that!

I put an Original '60's pup in my bass. Sounds much better now, like my '62 RI No noise, bigger tone, no clackiness.

Thin Lizzy came up before glam rock...and were much better song writers. They were pioneers!

Cool idea for the neck plate decal.

Laser engraving of neck plates, tuning keys, and pickguards would be cool for customizing ideas.

Thin Lizzy was anything but "Glam Rock". They didn't wear costumes or make up. The original Glam Rocker was David Bowie. Alice Cooper, KISS, Posion and several others followed but Thin Lizzy was not a glam rock band.

RB,

You have to remember, Brother Dave is a southern man, his definition of Glam Rock was anything stronger than The Monkees!

My MIJ/MIM Precision turning into a 70's Rocker.

Body = MIJ PB-57 Year unknown battered and beaten.
Neck = MIM '08

Upgrades

Fender Alnico pickups
250k CTS Pots
0.47 Orange Cap
Cloth Wiring
Switchcraft Jack
B/W/B Scratchplate
Fender big F neck plate
Fender 70's Decal

With this bass being battered & beaten I'm not bothered if it gets knocked, BUT I love this bass it has become my main squeeze. And the best thing of all the bass including the upgrades cost me a lot less than the price of a brand new Squier CV & a MIM Precision. Image

Yes, I have a lovely, slightly worn sunburst '74 that I put a Dimarzio and a series/parallel push pull on the tone control. It's a Mean Crunchy Rock and Roll Machine. it also has a Black High Mass Bridge of unknown origin.

Excellent responses to what a player will do to make his guitar his own.

My first P was an '06 '51 CIJ RI that got a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound, an American Deluxe 4-saddle bridge, and an Electrosocket output cup, and I got a Fender Vintage tweed case to carry it in (although it currently rides in a brown/gold plush case, because the interior matches the "butterscotch").

Second P was an '07 Classic '50s in fiesta red, which got a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound, and a tweed case.

Third P was a natural ash '08 FSR, which got (guess what?) a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound and a Warmoth fretless neck.

Last one was an '09 AV '57 in sunburst, and that one was left stock.

I still have 'em all, and they all get played, but my favorite lately has been the Classic '50s. When I got it, I hated the color, but it has grown on me over the years and gigs. When I got the AV '57 it got retired. I recently joined an oldies band and, at first, played my fretless Godin A5 because the singer capos all over the neck, and five-strings are easier to play in some keys than fours. A couple of weeks ago I changed it out for the Classic '50s, and was astonished at how great it sounds (I've been playing the AV '57 in another, country rock oriented group). Now the AV '57 is back in its case, and the Classic '50s is back in the saddle.

All basses, except the Godin, are strung with Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats. The Godin still has its factory flat-wounds.
