The quest for the perfect 15watt bass amp is an honorable one. I'm using a "First Act" guitar amp as my bass practice amp up here in the office and as long as I don't crank it - it works okay with my junk computer speakers as the music source that I play along with. The First Act is 11.2 watts of raw rockin' power but at a somewhat lower than desirable volume. I don't think I could use it in a band but hey- you just never know. I could always mic it. I call it my First Actpeg.

Just added an 88-89 MIJ Jazz fretless to the stable. Probably should post that in the Jazz bass forum, but I thought I'd share it here first :)

Congratulations! I've played a few and they're nice basses. Enjoy!

You need to know if it is alder wood or basswood or ironwood.

Ironwood? That would have to be one heavy instrument.

I've never playt one. They are great .
Many basses were made from Ironwood in the late 1700's. Hans Schtook made the first balsawood bass. Not really.

I have never seen one.

Real ironwood is a pretty rare wood here in the American Southwest and it has a density of ~1.30 g/cc^3. making it heavier than water and will sink.

Thor Feslaugen was a direct descendent of Valgar The Angry, leader of a rouge group of vikings who were afrqid of water. Instead of taking to the sea, they used sails on carts and navigated their way around a five square mile area. The idea was sound but having not forseen a gentle Spring, they either starved , killed one another or died of embarrassment.
