Thank you. Forgot to mention the 62 RI pickguard with the 62 grounding plate in the shape of the pickguard underneath it. That is a vital part of the 62 wiring scheme.

I have a '89 MIK Squier II P Bass with an awesome maple neck, but the original pickups did not have the sound I was looking for. I was looking for that Entwistle Leeds tone, so after lots of research, decided to buy the Original Precision Bass Pickups, my logic being that the Ox' early-mid '60s P-basses probably had this pup. I was not disappointed - monster tone! As Brother Dave said, lots of highs and enough lows to get the tone I want. That and a set of Rotosounds and I have the sound I want.

I did the same thing to MIM 'burst P, it really does sound amazing. I think it sounds better than my 2010 Am. Std. P-Bass!!!

Mine has more of a two-tone coloring, with the tort. guard it really looks good. I have debated about swapping out the stock tuners for the R.I. reverse ones, are the pegholes the same?

I think the diameter of the holes is the same but the mounting holes won't be in the same location so you'll have more holes. Not sure that upgrade is worth the money or time unless you have tuner woes.

Now I'm thinking of trying a larger value cap. I know the real American Vintage 62 Reissue uses a 0.1 cap, but each time I tried the 0.1uf cap on other basses I wound up very unhappy with it and took it out. Totally too many highs and harmonics went bye-bye. Maybe on this one it works great. I'm having a great deal of difficulty finding a genuine vintage Sprague Vitamin-Q in any value between 0.047 and 0.10. I know I could find some 0.068 Vitamin-Q's in the past but right now NOTHING. So if anyone runs across any unused genuine vintage Sprague Vitamin-Q caps in between the two values I already have, please let me know where to get them. I'm really looking for 0.068uf in any voltage up to the 300v versions. They usually sell for about $15 to $25. I'd prefer the 200v one.

Brother Dave; Your advice is always on the money I have my 2002 MIM Sage Green P setup with the '62 pickups & a set of Thomastick Jazz flats. The thing PLAYS & SOUNDS GREAT!!!! This is the bass I play most often currently. It's such a cool color too. I know I'll have to post a picfor the doubters but I have a new ISP & have to look where to host the photo. I should have time to do that over the weekend.
