I'm going to the biggest guitar show in my state Sunday. Does anyone want me to scout out anything ? Need any deals? If I see what you have a question about I can get the names and contact of the guys selling. That will give me something to do there. I'm not planning on buying anything. Some of my friends will be there so I'll hang with them a bit and look around for stuff for somebody if they want. They usually have guys with alot of misc. parts and pickups. I've seen some great prices on parts basses there before. Really nice ones- Tele bass types with "F" hole etc. , Warmouth, All Parts builds.

Hope I'm allowed to post this. I'm not looking to make anything from it and I'm not selling anything.

Thanks for offering to look around.

If you are bored, I need a Dark Star bass pickup.
Better yet, a Guild Starfire bass would be great of someone has one for sale.

Enjoy the show!! Sounds like a fun way to spend the day.

Very nice of you to offer your services as gear gopher. Bring me back a Marshall SuperBass head and 2x15 cab. Thanks

Going to a guitar show every now and then is a good break from looking at guitar porn all the time. Sort of like going to a nudie bar is a break from looking at Playboy magazine. Ah yes, the three-d upgrade with no upcharge at the box office! Another plus is at the guitar show you don't have to take $50 in ones to tip the dancers.

One word of advice. Refuse the free lap dances at the guitar show.

Guitar shows are good. Once a friend of mine and I traveled to one about 100 miles away and rented a table. We sat there all day and I sold a $15 pickguard. The table was $90. I haven't rented a table since then. That was about 8 years ago. I bought a Fender T-shirt at the show here in town a few years back for $40. I don't buy t-shirts anymore unless I need one to sleep in. I've never bought a guitar at any show. Just parts and a neck once. I really don't think the prices at guitar shows for guitars are all that great. You can do better on craigslist but you don't have the selection like you do at a show. I saw a guy going around with a bag of money buying a bunch of guitars. He had the fever. He was dealin' and wheelin' but he had a tendancy to be kind of angry. It was odd. Like he had to have his fix . Usually I run into people there I haven't seen in a long time. I run into people I really don't want to see also.
