Post subject: serial numbers?

i have tried looking for the serial number on my precision bass, alas to no avail. I took the neck off and found no number. I am trying to find out the year of manufacture, help !! :cry:

If you can't find the serial number, even with the neck off, chances are it isn't a fender neck

It was put on the neck plate, under Fender logo on front of headstock, back of headstock, and on the bridge. It all depends on when it was made.
