Hi anyone)

Help me to resolve the dispute:

Does anyone have a clear confirmation (photo of the neck, catalog by Fender) , which confirm a fact , that Fender HW1s ever had graphite support of the neck (Posiflex).

Many people think, after 2006, when neck for HW1 was updated (70s logo, access to nut), graphite support was also added. Is it true?

Fender Catalog 2006, on page 115, it says, that Posilex tech. used only on American Series, American Deluxe and some Artist Series basses.

Catalog 2007 confirms (p. 62-63) it. American Series feature neck support, but Highway One not.

You're right about the Posiflex truss-rod system.

Yeah, the graphite reinforced necks were a new feature for the post-2006 HWY1s. Fender uses the same graphite neck support rods for the American Special series (which superseded the HWY1s in 2010) as well. For the instance the pickguards are notched for heel-access truss-rod adjustments.

Pre-2006 HWY1 necks doesn't had graphite reinforcement bars.

Hope this information helps.

John

Does American Special Series have this feature? I am embarrassed by it:

Fender somehow confirmed this information? ('bout graphite support rods in HW1/AmSpecial?)

Does "Posiflex" & "graphite neck support rods " the same subjects? :?

The Posiflex truss-rod system IS the graphite neck reinforcement bars we're talking about!

There's no evidence about that, dear. Both HWY1 and US Special basses feature graphite reinforced necks.

If you examine further this black US Special P-Bass, you'll notice the small cutout into the pickguard across the A and D strings: this notch allows heel-access truss-rod adjustments with an Allen wrench.

Yes they have graphite reinforcement but they don't HAVE to. The truth is they may have it this week and then "POOF" they won't. Fender has gifted themselves lots of flexibility in the specs on this, sort of like the body wood on the MIM Standards. If the need to cut costs suddenly arises they can switch back to the old style necks and still be "within specs" on the product. Some people got a bad neck on the early Highway Ones. I know I did. They had to do something. My early Highway One neck went bad in no time flat.
