Well today I got my first real fender. A highway one P bass before the BA bridges ,its amazing. I want to hear your fender stories and see pics of all your p basses. I have a classic vibe 50"s that's tied with my fender for favorites.

Congrats on your new bass. I know you'll enjoy playing it for many years.

The P-Bass in the picture below is my first bass. I bought it used in 1978. It's a 1975 model. It was my main bass until about '88 or '89. I don't play it much now days, but it still plays and sounds great. I won't ever sell it. I've already told my son it's his when I'm gone.

Congrats on your first Fender bass!!!

My first Fender Bass was this one I got in 2004. I changed out the pup for an original '60's pbass pup, and it sounds so much better (less clacky, less hum). I also changed the bridge to a '60's style bridge for better intonation. All the wiring was beefed up, too. Tone is just like my '62RI below. Lotsa power, punch, and clarity. My main bass that gets most play and brings smiles to so many peoples' faces when they see it. It is my favorite Fender finish and I will never sell it if I have anything to say about it.

My AV'62RI I got back in 2006. Tone is amazing and the neck is very flat and wide. Much different neck shape than the '54 RI above and much lighter weight axe. Wish they did this in a flower finish, but black is in my top 3 fav colors:

These fender Pbasses above are my babies that I love so much and sound just like I want my bass tone to be. I am definitely a PBassman.

Below:
My Bass VI RI and my SG Bass.
Bass VI:
Sounds great, looks great, plays great too. But my aggresive right hand style leaves me wanting heavier guage strings and higher action. Not as good a fit for my body as the Pbasses. Great for tic-tac tone.

The SG Bass: Looks great, plays like a dream right up to the top fret due to she small and set neck. But sound is not clear at all. Very muddy and much less power than the pbasses.

I bought my First Fender bass around 3-4 months ago. 1996 Fender Am Deluxe in Blueburst. I see many gigs in this bass's future. ^^

Last March/April I got my first real Fender after almost 24 years of playing bass. I had owned a few Squier's (still have a '89 MIK Precision) but the real thing never seemed to come my way. Anyhow a chance meeting with a friend of mine who was given a MIJ PB-57 body,& bought an '08 MIM neck changed that.

It looks beaten to hell so I have no worries about dropping it,or it getting knocked and it's a nice weight as well. If I knew how to post pictures here I would, I have really got into this bass recently defiantly a keeper.

I started out playing a Gibson Grabber in the early '80s but I got my first Fender in about 1984 by a stroke of luck. This guy was selling a '55 p bass at his garage sale for the princely sum of $125 (I doubt he knew what he had). Its all original, pretty worn though, still got it.
Now I have:
'55, '70 p basses
'64, '69, '83, '99, '10 jazz basses
4 other non-Fenders

My main guitars are the '70 p bass and the '69 Jazz

I have a Precision Lyte Deluxe with a humbucker in the bridge, 3-band EQ and a mahogany body.

Once I've spare time I'll post a couple of photos.

Bought today my first Fender bass!!! 400euro + my SUB Sterling ( I think that deal was a bargain) It's a 97 American Deluxe Precision sunburst with black Parchment pickguard, rosewood fretboard, an SPB-3 quarter pounder instead of the original P-pickup and a Badass bridge.

My MIJ P-Bass Lyte Deluxe, the precursor to the American Deluxe Zone Bass of 2003.

Apart one missing screw in the J-style humbucking bridge pickup, this baby plays and sings like buttah.

1. Create a free account within a good photo managing website (Photobucket, ImageShack, Flickr)

2. Upload your photos into your personal user profile.

3. After uploading your photos, copy and paste the URL address which contains the media.

4. Drag your mouse pointer over the URL and press the IMG icon in the user control panel. You'll see two [img] tags between the URL, the last having a "slash" which closes the first tag.

5. One you've finished press Submit to post your thread.

6. Done!
