You know, the one Active one with 2 band EQ, P and J, 2 Stacked pots, 51 style pickguard. MIM.

I just found one to buy, anyone got an opinion on the model?

Cheers.

Hey all. I did end up getting the bass in the end, and I love it! The pre-amp is great, and the neck is nice and thin, and narrower than a regular p bassneck. I love the vintage style as well. Great quality for a MIM.

Here is a pick of an identical bass

Yep those are neat. I think they are very similar to the Stu Hamm models in certain respects.

I had one for about two years. Then along came a first generation P-bass about 5 years ago so I had to thin the herd.

The neck is actually Jazz neck. The two concentric stacked pots always threw me off since I was used to only two pots on a regular Precision. I like my basses simple as I can make them. Those were about the only things that didn't delight me. They do sound really, really good and the craftsmanship and materials seemed above the "Standard" MIM basses. I really liked the see through blonde finish which was what attacked me to it in the first place. There was also a see through red and see through blue I think. These have a shot at becoming collectible in the future as there really were not ever as many of them around.

Yeah, it kinda does look like my original Stu Hamm (v1), except it's missing the neck J pup. It's a cool bass.

Got a P-Bass Special also. Mine is U.S. made (not bragging), California Series. 4-string/passive pickups. Don't see too many P/Specials out there ,only one or two. Just thought I would share.

Hi Nice Find, I have 1 Just like it, Mine is a 1996 I purchased it from the original Owner, Mine was gigged 4-6 nights a week thru jams and regular
band bookings, I had to repair the pots and also going to replace the neck, Frets are wore out around the low E, A, and G. I was going to try one of those Eden Block inlay classic finish Jazz Necks, Give it kinda Getty Lee Look. Mine also sounds Really Good A Lot more Boost With the Active Electronics and the Special EQ that the Mexican has is differant then the American Model, There are very few of these out there and hardly no information that I can find. Happy Gigging.

I had a sunburst I bought back in 93. Unfortunatly, 5 years later I sold it. I needed the money. Still mad at myself for that one.

They had a rosewood fretboard. I installed a jazz neck with the block inlay with a maple fretboard and a Badass III Bridge. got it sounding good and lot more punch. Good Luck
