If one were to have bought a 'blonde' Precision in 1957, which of the various 'whites' and 'yellows' on Fender's current colour charts most closely resembles it, please?

I appreciate that they faded to that honey/yellow hue, but if you were getting the Custom Shop to accurately spec a NOS 1957, which one would it be?

I'm not talking about the 'Olympic white'; I mean the lovely 'blonde' that's translucent over an ash body.

If we're talking about 57, its "White Blonde".

As far as I know...

So not 'Honey Blonde'?

Nor really anything like either of the colours they now call 'butterscotch' or 'vintage blonde', nor like the colour they make the American Vintage 1957 Re-issues in?

Nay, here are the colors.

Honey Blonde - has a slight tan color, if you wanna call it that. Its a solid color used mainly with little to no grain woods. This is a 50s P-Bass.

Butterscotch Blonde - yellowish, sometimes very mango in color but mostly light yellow in color, and is mostly used for basses with an ash body. This is a 51 P-Bass

Image

White Blonde - a see through white color used mainly for instruments with an ash body, like butterscotch in some cases. This is a 57 P-Bass

I'm not very familiar with vintage white, but its very cream in color from what I've seen. This is vintage white on a Mike Dirnt bass.

So through these, you can tell exactly which color is which, so I hope this helps in pinpointing which color you're looking for. Granted, some basses look much different than they are in photos.

The color was BLONDE. Just plain Blonde. The 68 Telecaster Bass was VERY close to right.
