I haven't posted in a while, been hella busy with work and all. But I've always wanted to get people's opinions on the current colors offered. Personally, I like the 3-Tone Sunburst and Olympic White but does anybody think that they should offer another color or two?

I'd really like to see a Fiesta Red '62 because I find it to be a really classy color and one that, I believe, was one of the nicest colors in the 60s. Maybe even Sea Foam Green or Shoreline Gold.

I dunno. What do you guys think? Any preferred colors you'd like to see?

I'd like to see fiesta red, and black. I currently have a three burst 94 AVRI 62, and I'm thinking of putting a red tort guard on to replace the dark tort. What do you think?

I would buy a blue flower immediately if they did it in that color with the rosewood.

I have a black AV'61RI now that I love.

And three-tone sunburst rounds off the only Fender colors I really like.

Agree on Fiesta Red. That is a very vibrant color.

These two play and sound great and both come in Fiesta Red:
http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0131702303
http://www.fender.com/products/roadworn/models.php?prodNo=013171

The instruments are basically identical but for the body finish with Poly on the 50's ($1,000 USD) and relic treated Nitro on the Roadworn ($1,400 USD). So you will pay a real premium for Nitro and the relic treatment. Otherwise they are same specs.

I was fortunate enough to play both in a side by side comparison just this past summer. With these particular two instruments at Hames Music in Gaffney, SC I thought the tone on the 50's Poly one was better! Of course in comparing two others the result will be different. No two instruments are ever exactly the same, even two instruments of the same model made the same day by the same people will have some difference if you listen closely enough.

I think the Poly one represents a significant value and if you want Fiesta Red it is your least expensive option in the Fender line that I know about.

Brotherdave, I have considered that 50's Classic P, its such a beautiful instrument and I've seen it in person but never got the chance to try it. Felt great. I think its a solid investment and maybe good for something in the future, say being converted into a 60s model. Just sayin'.

In my opinion, Fender should definitely offer a (much) wider choice of colours - like they did in the late 80s-early 90s. Either bass players are very conservative when it comes to colour, or Fender don't consider there to be a market. As already mentioned, Fiesta red is gorgeous, but how about Sonic blue with a torty guard? Or Lake Placid blue? I remember getting my grubby hands on a translucent blond 'Mary Kaye' 62 reissue in the late 80s - that was stunning with gold hardware!!! (It had a much more striking grain pattern on the ash body than the one in the photo below.)

Come on Fender - stop being so dull! Give us a wider choice of colours.
