Can anyone tell me anything better than an empty house (in my case, no wife to complain that the windows are rattling), having everything set just right and, lay it down just like you've been hearing it in your head when you couldn't be there to actually play.

A manage-a-trois :D

You're right, finding that groove and just rockin' out. It feels good and smooth. Always brings a smile to my face.

I am the lucky one :D My wife comes back home after about 6 hours after I come back after work :D

So I can take my P-Bass and practise, record, compose as loud as I wish and there's no complaining about the windows :D :D Only the dogs sometimes disturbes, but walkin with my dog is also pleasure :D

Yes, empty house is good. But IMHO it is a poor second to being on stage. Different people enjoy differnt things, I guess. As far as I'm concerned, nothing beats playing with my band. That's why I play - to gig!

After a whole lot more years than I want to admit to, I cajoled a gitar player from the "old" days to get involved again, he picked up a new American Standard Strat (white/maple) last week, we're getting together on Friday.

If anyone has re-visited the past, you'll know how it feels.
