This is for anyone to comment but I'd really like to hear Bother Dave's take on this. This appear factory. It's 37" long over all. It has the same scale as the Precision Junior basses. It is not a neck cut down it looks factory. It tappers to flat on the end when it meets the body. The neck is maple capped no skunk stripe. Decal appears like early 1970's 4 patent numbers like the decals before serial numbers were added to the headstocks. It has volume & tone & standard P Bass pickups. Sounds like my 1972 P Bass. No markings on this anywhere not serial # etc.....Any ideas what this is. I may offer it on ebay & would like to know what to offer it as. It looks to factory to me to be a homemade bass. Maybe a p bass mini look alike from the 1970's Japanese made that someone applied a real Fender logo to? Or a prototype.....prototype of what? anyway take a look. I can add more photos tonight if you want to see the back etc....

I have no idea. Obviously without any serial at all the authenticity is dubious.

YES, There is a 1/2 size bass that is marketed by Jay Turser(and others)that has a full sized neck and a pint sized body(not my wording :? )they have a regular size neck pocket and a full size neck,so adding a Fender neck would not be a feat of magic,it would drop right in.
Go to Jay-Turser basses on the net or even E-bay sells them and you will see the baby-sized bodied bass(I'm a poet and dont know it) :D

The interesting thing here is that this is not a full size neck & It's not cut down it's a full 20 frets. It's roughly 3/4 the size of a full length neck. SO it's not a full sized fender neck on a small body.

Is there any way you could check for stampings on the butt of the neck or the body's neck joint or pickup cavities?

Regaurdless of the neck being "full scale" the body IS NOT the design of anything Fender makes, for all we know it could be a "home-made bass" with a Fender decal applied to the h/stock,if you want a definitive answer take the bass apart and post the pics of the neck-pocket,the neck butt/heel or anything else that may contain info on what it may be.
One of us here will be able to tell SOMETHING,its not hard, just remove the strings and take out the 4 screws holding the body to the neck and its apart,or bring it to a music store, they may know something, but only one picture cannot give us enough insight to what it is.
