Many years ago I bought this P bass. Its a genuine 61 vintage model.Serial #in the 70.000's.Someone had done a terrible paint job on it and changed the pickups.I sanded the bass for 24 hrs by hand and coated it with Danish oil and replaced the pickups with 62 reissues. This bass looks and sounds very dark and beautiful.Of the 10 basses that i own this one is unique. The neck is dark with age and its in exceptional condition.I play it very little as I'm a 5 string bass player.I would like it to go to a good home but holding on to it for some subconscious selfish reasons.Anyone interested I have some pictures to show.

I'm not sure its the right forum to post pics to try and sell your bass,There's alot of issue's being adressed on the site and the moderator is doing some investigating and is always keeping an eye out for ...?whatever.
I personally dont care, and would like to see the bass regaurdless of whats the intent of the postings, any Vintage Fender is a good Fender to look at(as well as the rest of the clan).

I'm not trying to sell it as I'm not desperate for cash. Its more a case of wanting guys to see a great 61 P bass. I have not found a way to download pictures of it,so I will send individuals shots if they really passionate about seeing it.I started out playing P basses in 1967 so I'm somewhat well informed with what p basses are about.Everybody is so hung up about original this and original that.Me I personally dont like an ugly looking bass even if it sounds great and 100% the real thing. This bass has 62 reissue pickups (which are better than the stock 61 pickups) no Fender logo ( after cleaning the headstock up it looks better than before)A Fender logo can always be got if you think it's so important. Other than that, its the real thing with the sound and looks that no custom Fender reissue could come close to.The bottom line behind every bass is the wood.A 61 P bass has wood that is 40+ years old. When you see that and feel that, you know and hear the difference.

On the first page of the post below there are instructions for posting pics. This topic is in the Fender Lounge (currently on page 2 in the list, currently last updated on Sat. Sept 10, 2011), called "Poll: How to post pics - Nutter's quick start guide”: http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=52777

I would add to it that if you’re using Flickr, you need to get the properties of the pic, not the URL displayed at the top of the browser. I do that by going to the “View All Sizes”, picking the size I want displayed, then right click on the pic itself, and choose “properties”. Then I copy the Address and paste it between image tags ( img] [/img] ) in your post. Looking forward to seeing pics! :D
