I loved to read & as comments to this forum for a while. I put up with the NICP stuff. All this BS has really put me off. I don't think Pennywise belonged here in the first place & all the back & forth in this thread is making me very disinterested in this forum. I may delete my account. Another thing that has ALWAYS annoyed me are people who have photos of their bass in every post. Say what you have to say & save your bass photos for "Show your Bass" thread or when someone asks for a photo. I may leave my account active but, as I have this week, visit less than in the last year or so. Lastly;
PENNYWISE DID NOT PLAY BASS IF YOU CLOWNS DIDN'T NOTICE!
PS: "IT" was a good book but the movie SUCKED

In the grand scheme of things, all this stuff is minor, and I have to remind myself to just get over it. It's much more practical to turn off the computer and apply my nitpicking and criticisms to my bass playing instead of directing it to what people choose to do on the Internet.... :D

What a concept. Play that bass! :mrgreen:

Speaking as one with a minimal presence here, but one who enjoys the sharing of information and fellowship, Brad, I think your approach will have a positive effect on the ambiance hereabouts. Discussion never replaces playing music, but I'm one of the very few Precision players in a small city, and the horizons of the bass players I'm around are pretty limited. This is a useful and entertaining forum: thank you, Brad, for keeping it that way.

Huh?

Why in the "WIde, Wide, World of Sports" [thanks Slim Pickens] would someone in a Fender musical instrument forum complain about photos of a poster's Fender guitar, Bass, ukelele, etc. in a signature line?

That logic completely escapes me.

It's an enthusiasts' forum.

And so the public lab experiment continues this fine Saturday: despite several requests directly from the moderator to not engage the out-of-line poster and take his "bait" here I see at least one NICP member who can't seem to let it go and was actually far outside forum guidelines in his own response which I'll be deleting. Hmmm ...

As an example, there's a competitor of Fender's that also has a bass discussion forum, but I stopped posting there because it no longer became enjoyable. If you wanted to discuss equipment, you could only discuss THEIR basses, strings, and accessories - you pretty much had to pretend other companies didn't exist. And heaven forbid you criticize their products.

I can virtually guarantee you that we'll never have restrictions of that variety here. Within reason, of course ... I mean, if someone tries to take over these forums and use them as a platform to repeatedly and blatantly promote some competing manufacturer's product that'd be one thing. But, even I myself (gasp!) own and use non-Fender products on frequent occasion in addition to my Fender gear, and generally we understand the need to use a wide array of products from various manufacturers to achieve "your" sound.
