The Custom Shop one sounds good, is it new? Have you had the opportunity to play both?

Custom shop I should be able to play the black one is not local to me. I never played a custom shop. I have 3 vintage basses & a mexican that desperately needs a setup. All p-basses.

Geez, tough one.
When I can't decide on something, which happens all the time, I flip a coin. I have an 1892 silver dollar that my father-in-law gave to me, and I keep it in my wallet for such events.

Heads = yes
Tails = no
And it's always best of 7.

But since you have 3 vintage basses already and have zero custom shops, I would go custom shop. But then maybe you want the vintage more, cause that's your thing, but want the custom shop this time around.
Just flip a coin.

I ask myself 2 questions: Will I regret it if I do? Will I regret it if I don't? BOTH questions are mandatory. And I sometimes try to psych myself out by making a decision (but not taking action), and then stew on that to see what comes up.

Yup, tough one.

Thanks! I'll consider all your tips, including flipping a coin, & let you know what I decide . Of course I will post a photo. It's like I invision my room to look kinda like Entwistle's Precision bass line up in his book someday before I die but there are some colors that would cost me way too much to be vintage therefore they can "look" original but infact be Cutom Shop. Thats the idea with the Burgundy Mist. On the other hand Entwistle's book does state that the Black with rosewood board P-Bass is an endangered species.........

I have a Bahamian nickel. Pineapple yes, coat of arms no.

My first impulse when there's only two, buy them both. Of course that's unrealistic but, that's my sick logic.

Sigmund Freud always advised flipping a coin when confronted with a decision like yours. Then, of course, you analyze how you feel about the result.

I'd go for the custom shop. I've had lovely old instruments start to fall apart on me (and, no, I'm not a basher). Right now I have a late '30s Regal resonator that won't tune the low E to pitch. It's ultimately fixable, but it's still a hassle.
